    Hard week - prayers needed

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers. The funeral is Wednesday, with visitation tomorrow evening. The next two days will be hard, but I am afraid some of the hardest times are yet to come. I've been to her house twice so far to get clothes for the burial. She told my daughter and her...

    New Truck!

NoCal... NICE truck. BUT, don't take this the wrong way. If you had a 99 (barely 7 years old) with only 110k miles and a "motor that sounded like it was about to die", why would you buy another? I've never owned a GM before, but may in the future. I currently own only Toyota, and have...

    New truck

Actually JIM B, Nissan was technically the first. They offered the four door Frontier in 2000 as did Dodge, but the Frontier was released first. In 2001 Toyota entered the arena with the four door Tacoma also.

    Boating

Yeah, this picture has been floating around for years with many stories to go along with it. I was in paramedic school about 12 years ago when I first saw it. We were in traumatic injuries and the article and photo came from a medical journal. It is a guy in a motorcycle accident. The article...

How can you tell how many hours are on the "big" motor?

NC, I too am probably gonna do this IF I keep the boat. I just wish the original owner had done it when he bought it. I do this on all my equipment I buy (mowers, etc) after I crank the stuff to make sure it works. I even put a vibration hour meter on my pressure washer. Oh well, thanks...

Maybe a silly question - Towing a boat

CJL: Nice House. Now, concerning the backing up. The worst thing for an automatic (assuming it is) is backing up an incline, long distance with a load. The transmission will heat up EXTREMELY fast. I have known MANY transmissions that have died because of this. This is usually backing up with...

Happy Thanksgiving - What are you thankful for

This picture is about 5 months old, but you get the idea. Her name is Emily, she is 20 months old, and she is the best thing I've ever done with my life. Everything I do, everyday, centers around her. God definately gave me one of his angels on April 15, 2004.

    Service Tools

Second the replacing O-rings. Replaced my gear lube this spring and didn't take boat out from mid-May until mid-October. When I went to hook it up, noticed a puddle under LU and streak of lube coming from drain hole. Gotta go get some new seals and replace them along with putting new lube...

Sold the Tracker, Now only have one boat :-)

Did you get your asking price Trep? If so, sounds good for me and the PT175 if I sell this spring. Glad you sold it, but this time of year is usually hard to sell.

Does the Mayor of New Orleans have this authority???

Rich, I agree to a point. Yes, I put my life in harm's way for people in dangerous situations. This DOES NOT include them shooting at me in the way that has been happening. Everyone has their opinions. Mine is that my safety is more important than some people may think. I don't think this...

Does the Mayor of New Orleans have this authority???

Here's my take. Got into this discussion on another site. I am a career firefighter. Several friends have been "deployed" to that area. One group has been shot at twice (or at least been in the immediate vicinity of being shot at). They are down there to save and rescue...and they are being...

Lack of fishing ettiquette almost ended with a fight!

Rusty, Did you get their registration numbers and report them to DNR? On lanier the only near fight episode I've had is with one idiot on a waverunner and a boatload of young punks in a wakeboard boat. I was too mad to remember the numbers on the boat, but reported the waverunner.

    This is gonna hurt....

Durn Scott, that's be a LOT of STABIL...LOL.:D Came home this morning (North GA) and gas was $2.59. Got it this afternoon for $2.91. Neighbor got it for $3.59 2 hours later. There is also a station just north of Gainesville near the ramp on Lanier that I usually go to. He is selling regular...

    Protesting at Hero's funerals????

That church was here in Cleveland Ga back in the late winter/early spring because some students were forming a gay club at the High School. Even though I STRONGLY disagreed with the club, the way they protested, things they said, and the posters they had were ridiculous. They only do...

    Tow Vehicles???

I drive a 2004 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab, V6/auto 4wd. I like the truck, but not NEARLY as much as my 2002 EXT cab, which was 4wd, V6 BUT a 5 speed. The 4 speed auto shifts WAY too much, even not towing. Wish I would have waited and got the new body style with more power and 6 speed manual. I...

NTOWS Lake Allatoona Rally - Sept 17 or 24

Trep, sorry bud. Bad dates for me, but I'm sure y'all will have fun. I work the 17th, and I am redoing my yard the 24th and I'm sure a couple days before and after also. Sorry I can't make it, it was hard finding a date at work to take off and this was it.

    Sad but too true

Trep...I'd love to. We've talked about it, but really, this Fall we need to get an area get-together up. I'd love to meet all of you guys. Seriously, let's start looking for some days this fall. I've never been to Allatoona at all. Lanier, I've been on it quite a bit, but still trying to learn...

    Sad but too true

SoonerFan: Let me give you a real world FACT. A few shifts ago we were called to "child choking" call. We responded to an apartment complex in our first in. When we got there we made our way to the apartment. This was a 3/2 apartment that would probablt run $1500+ in our area if it wasn't...

    Sad but too true

Well, I'm late on this discussion, but I'm gonna give my two cents anyway because I deal with this problem EVERY day at work. I am a firefighter/paramedic in metro Atlanta. My area is about 75% Hispanic, 24.9% black, russian, Indian, etc, etc, .1% White. I have been told that I should learn...
