Mystery hose

I noticed a loose hose dangling down between the the motor and the jack plate on my boat. It's diameter is about the same as a kids juice box straw and is black in color. The end looks like it should plug into something but I don't know what. Whatever it is it just came loose last time out. Any ideas??

Sounds like the speedo hose.

Do you have a water pressure gauge and does it work? No WP gauge, then it is the speedo.

Yep, got a H2O pressure gauge and it works. Low and behold------the speedo does not work...
