Each year I end up forking over 1-2 grand in the boat. Just seeing if everyone else does the same. Here's a list of what I'm doing this year. Keep in mind, not many repeat each year, but I always find something to work on. What do you do?

For 2002 my list

Reg maintenance

1. Replace thermostats (for you Bob)

2. Replace throttle control and pin harness (not regular)

3. Install new electronics

4. Have glass work done to repair cracks from last years hurricane! LOL

5. Have prop tweaked (not reoccurring)

6. Replace plastic battery trays and hold downs with auto style metal mounts

7. Install rod organizer into rod locker

8. Fix lock on tackle compartment (don't anybody get any ideas at the rally, it will be done by then! LOL)

9. Repack trailer bearing and put on new bearing buddies to reduce grease sling on tires

10. Purchase and mount trailer spare tire

11. Fix trailer wiring/lights, bad ground somewhere

12. Install in-line fuel filter

13. Clean up and organize wires under dash

14. Replace trim gauge with water temp gauge

There are a few other minor details, but most are optional. My total this year before annual tackle stock up weekend is around $1400. So whata ya think? Am I nuts? My wife thinks so until the guide checks start rolling in. But it takes the 1st 2 weeks just to break even! LOL

On my 89 1800tf

1. re upholster bench seats (my cost $140) quoted $610

2. Repair some gel coat issues on bottom $40

3. Add Keel gaurd so I don't have to redo # 2 $140

4. Repair some loose fabric by reglueing $20

5 Replace livewell spray nozzle heads $15

6 Fix water pressure gauage $?

7. Add rod organizer, home made $ 40

8 Purchase Spare tire mount for trailer ( Rob what will fit?) and how much for the tracker trailer

I know Craig can get us some. I found Goodyear's with same aluminum rim 5 lug on Overton's for $190. I will try to get it from Ken and Craig first though. Water pressure gauge is easy, I did last year, make sure you replace the line too. It comes with the gauge, I think it was around $30-$40 for the whole thing. On my seats, I'm thinking of just ordering the bench style from Cabela's for $185. Won't fit perfect, but it will beat what's there. Not a high priority this year!

I've got the first of 3 seats done and it looks great. Thanks to my buddy who owns a machine for stiching thru 4 layers of vinyl. on the spare, I don't need a tire, I need a mount that will fit the 89 tracker trailer without hitting the boat. not much room to mount that spare.

I should have some pics up in a few weeks of the boat and seats. I still need to butter the worn gelcoat at the bottom of the transom where the boat rest against the bunks. It's worn off the first 3-4" of gelcoat and I want to fix it before it becomes a problem.

Replace trailer limit light ($8.00)

Straighten trailer bow roller holder ($0)

Replace bow roller ($28.00)

That's it....heck, it's a 1 year old boat!!!! If I'd just learn to hit the bow stop in the center when I take the boat out I would of only had to get the new light. Oh well, live and learn!

Yearly Projects (Take 1):

-- Get rid of state issued cardboard temporary license plate

-- Build deck extension

-- Build more storage

-- Remount spare tire (and buy a spare tire)

-- Have swivel-tongue installed on trailer

-- Find a better way to mount a cooler for the beer

-- Add a front mount finder (haven't decided on model yet, so can't say cost)

-- Get a new prop

-- Onboard charger?

-- Nitrous oxide? ;-)(lol... wonder what the impact would be tho)

-- 3-4 new rods/reels

-- 'bout 20 boxes of new tackle

-- and maybe a higher thrust trolling motor (currently a 50#)

Damn, I just realized this is gonna be an expensive year ;-)

Dave,

Haven't thought about all of your "projects" but I have an idea for one...

-- Find a better way to mount a cooler for the beer

"fill area between front and rear deck with ice...fill ice with beer...wear snowmobile pants and boots while driving boat..."
