Hi everyone, looking for ideas. Have a 2005 tracker 185 90hp Optimax. It was sputtering so I changed the plugs and found one of the plug wires had a hole so I replaced it. The sputtering seems to be gone now. Now the problem. When I get on it out of the hole the motor shuts down instantly but start quickley. If I bring it upslowly to 10-15mph then jump on it, no problem.

Thanks in advance, Im lost.

When the nose comes up the exhaust ports go under water and the back pressure kills the engine. The gradual holeshot keeps the ports above the water and eliminates the back pressure problem.

Thanks guys, never thought of the filter But thought of the ports and it will do the same thing on muffs and in a barrel. T^he water isnt near it.
