Well, after getting some darn good advice here, I was off and running, trying to find the recommended rings. I got... nowhere.

Nobody had what I was looking for in stock. I could order online, but I like to see what I'm getting ahead of time and the pictures sucked on most sites.

So I went back to BPS for a show one day, and after my working hours I ventured back upstairs to check out their selection. One kind of Weaver - and they looked very cheap (and the price was very cheap). My only other choices were to someway remove the base that seems to be welded on and buy Leupold base and rings (which is probably what I should have done), or take a gamble on these "Millett" rings. They had a nice looking set of scroll engraved steel Angle-Lok, "windage adjustable" rings, so I bought them. I followed the directions perfectly, and for the first time ever, I had a scope that was set in my rings and bore sighted without ever touching the windage or elevation adjustment knobs.

HOWEVER.... the scope was not wanting to lay flat in these rings - they need to be lapped. I don't own lapping equipment, so I'll have to buy. Buying this equipment seems to be just as expensive as buying my "third" option, which I'm kind of regretting not doing in the first place - which is buying one piece base/rings from Talley.

Ahhhhh.... alas... I think I'll just spend the money and do this the "right" way. So it's ring lapping compound and the bar. Fun. Yeah. Fun. That's what I'm telling myself anyway.

Thanks for everyone's help. I appreciate the input from all, and I did search extensively in my area (and online for stuff with pictures) for the ones you all recommended.

All the best,

Glenn

Glad everything worked out Glenn!!! Nothing can ever be easy or straight forward, at least in the hobbies we enjoy.
