vin number

i have a 1989 tracker trailer. the tag with all the info on it has faded so i can't read it. i can figure everything out except for the vin number. is it stamped on the trailer somewhere?thanks stan

it came from ny and in ny there is no title under 1500 lbs. which this is just under. i bought the boat from someone who lived next to a launch on champlain so he never registered it. he bought it used.it lookes like motor vehicle will have to assign it a new number. which means i have to mail it opposed to getting it locally. which means more time which i was trying to avoid. thanks stan
