Top End Surge

I have a '91 Ski n Fish Nitro with a 90 hp Johnson on it. At full throttle it motor surges a little back and forth, seems to want to go faster. How can I fix this problem? I have changed plugs.

Yes please. Any help about this would be appreciated. I am having the same problem. I have a Mercury 125 (1996). It goes through the transition just fine. However at wot it surges. I am also having a problem taking off. It cranks and idle's great, however when I give her a little gas at takeoff, the engine dies. I have to go to almost 3/4 throttle to get it going. This makes it fun to load on the trailer Robert

Steve, When was the last time the fuel filter was changed?



Also, Has have you had the timing checked. Possibly not getting enough advance to run the higher RPM's.
