titl pin lock

me and my dad put are tracker pro 17 in the water for the first time this past weekend when we whent to get it of the trailer we had a hrad time. my question is we have a 25 hp motor it a mercury. were the motor locks to the titl pin it just hocks over it. when i whent to back off the trailer (with the wheels in the water up to the top of them)the motor keep poping off the pin lock and jumping out of the water is this motor to samll to do this or am i doing someing worng. thanks rick

Rick -

Your motor's not too small. You are likely missing a spring that holds the lock-hook in place. Take it by a dealer and have him take a look.
