I noticed the small screw that holds the chain on my gas cap has come loose and is in my tank. Does anyone know if there is a screen in the tank to prevent it from going into the fuel hose? Is it worth removeing my fuel sender and fishing it out?

There should be a screen or a filter on the fuel pick-up and should not be a problem other than the rust that sould be caught in your fuel filter.

It's a ferrous metal - I'd get it out of there. It's going to corrode.

All the best,

Glenn

The screw is stainless so I dont think it will corrode and a magnet will not work.

Remove the fuel sender and you'll have access.....but do it! Maybe it won't corrode, but it COULD be a source of restriction. ;)
