Question on waxing Aluminum boats

I've got a 2000 Pro Angler V16. I wax the engine covor and trailer, but
what about the aluminum hull? I've read this is not good to do on the
bottom of a fiberglass boat, but does it effect alum?? Also, what is a
good wax and wash product to use.
