Really need some easy advice here. 1994 Nitro 180 FS owner. Do I prime the gas line before I start it? It was sitting for 5 days. Sunday I primed it 6 to 8 pumps. Would not start. After about 2 hours, after I got home, it started. 6 hours later, it started just fine. Does it depend upon how long the boat has been sitting? Prime it or no prime it?

First, if you haven't replaced your fuel lines recently to the new alcohol resistant stuff, do it. Second, due to the volatility of today's fuels, vapor lock is becoming more prominent. Prime before every start. Do not "over-prime", just a few pumps of the bulb till FIRM. Over-zealous priming can over-power the needles and flood the motor....possibly what happened to you.;)
