Oil res again

OK, so is there anything attached to the little black cap on the oil reservoir vent cap thingy? Is it just a black plastic cap or is it some sort of vale assembly?

I have a 2002 115 2 stroke. It got knocked off while I was removing the cowling in the water. I didn't get to see what it looked like exactly before it went for a swim. Thanks

My 99' Merc 90 h.p plastic plug has an o-ring on the end of the cap and a verticle groove up the side of the plug for a vent, I guess.

I had the same thing happen to my 2000 90hp. The parts book calls for a 19299A1 Vent Assembly and a 21-64871 Check Valve. $5.00 nand $4.30 on Mercury Express. Forget if the assembly includes the check valve. Hope this helps.

Are you talking about the saddle tank on your engine? The cap that goes on that? Or the tank in the bottom of the aft compartment?
