Hello, this is our first boat. 2010 bass tracker pro 16. It came with no batteries. I believe I need 1 cranking and 1 12v deep cycle, is this correct? It's a 30 hp 4 stroke and I believe a 36 or 44lb thrust trolling motor. Any thoughts on onboard charger being useful

You can use a Dual Purpose battery for starting if you will be adding electronics. It will do starting and deep cycle for your electronics/pumps when the motor isn't running. The size for deep cycle for the trolling motor would depend on how long you will be on the water using the trolling motor, a 100AH is typical. Lots of choices for an on-board charger if you have room, just do a web search for dual bank on-board battery charger.
