I finally believe the stories from the Michigan folks... My friend and Corey's, Justin Dunkel, caught this one on St Clair...

There are MANY MANY MANY big fish in St Clair. It is almost perfect breeding grounds for smallmouth.

I had a pair of high fives (didnt weigh them) last Saturday (smallmouth) and a couple of 5's (again didnt weigh them) of largemouth. Add teh other 4+ smallie and I was close to 25lbs of mixed bag.....crankbait for teh smallies and picasso jig/plastic trailer for the buckets

Oh and there were claims of a 7.3 caught Saturday. He weighed it on a berkley hand held scale....NICE FISH!!!

Another friend just posted a claimed 8lber smallie from Erie...
