WTF! Never heard of it but that's where we are fishing the Women's Bassmaster Classic for 2009.

Teri, It's north of Bossier City. I guess the Red River is off limits due to the heavy rains we've been having. I never fished that lake. Good luck!

Barry from La.:)

Good new Teri is you didn't spend all the $$/time practicing for a week and it was no use!!! LOL

Also you will be even with all the other folks, as I assume no one fished that lake the last week! Will be tough though as your boater won't have any spots she's targeting.

Good luck, sleep well and fish your butt off!!

"WTF" is right!!! Now just concentrate on your tactic and use your comfy/confident baits and be direct. You will do just fine. Go get em! :)

Doug

I guess since any news if off limits to you, I won't tell you what I know. :D I fished Cypress many years ago. Good luck Teri, you are all in the same boat(!!) now.

As of 11am we were fishing the Red River.

1:00pm we were fishing Cross Lake. They closed that due to flooding.

2:00pm we were fishing Caddo Lake. They made it totally no wake.

Then they landed on the Cypress Black Bayou.

They gave us a hand drawn map to the ramp so alot of us went there after registration but the sign said "Black Bayou". I believe the dam divides that from "Cypress". So we drove to "Cypress Black Bayou" recreation park and it was closed. So, no one really knows where we are fishing. LOL! Guess I will find out in the morning.

I drew out with a very nice lady that I really enjoy and love to be around her husband and family. We practice together tomorrow and fish together on day 1. Gotta go and repack my plastics tray.

Will post more tomorrow. Nite!

At least your all on an even keel, should make it more fun fishing virgin waters. Kinda like the old days when the lake was revealed at the last minute.

Good luck,

Eric

Stay focused ALL day.

I knew they werent going to do the Red.

You know someone has really gotten into it, when their language contains phrases such as:

'I have to go repack my plastics'!

Have a great time and good luck.

Tex

By the way, the 'front' is moving through DFW area now, so your weather is about to change later today, and certainly tomorrow!

Tex

You know don't most of us guys wish our wives were like that. "Honey let me go repack the plastics for you." Good luck Teri!

Teri - Just caught up to all the changes for you. (Took the family to Disney for a week.) It will work to your advantage. Forget the places we discussed, but not the tackle and rigging and you'll knock their socks off. Stay calm and persistantly work your strengths. Now get "on point" and go get 'em!! Good luck and God Bless!! ;)

Practice went well today. It killed me to "shake off" fish. They have a slot limit here so I have no idea just how many I would have weighed today. The cold front coming in is going to be interesting. I hope it doesn't give them lock jaw. Keepers have to be between 12 and 14" or over 17". I will cry if I have to throw back something between 14 and 17". It just hurts to think about it. Lol! If we have a day like today, we both would have brought in nice sacks providing they weren't "in the slot". Ha! I think it's all going to change tomorrow so I am not too excited. Headed to Bass Pro to pick up more of the magic colors. Hopefully, I will have something to write about tomorrow night. Cheers!

Good luck Teri... Several years ago I fished a tourney in Minnesota on a lake with a slot... We boated over 40+ fish but only 3 that were not slot fish... I sincerely hope you do not6 have a day like that... I went home and beat the dog, the wife and the kids as well as drank my self to death!!!!

Lol@Greg. Gosh I hope that doesn't happen.

Sitting at a sushi bar. Seems kind of cruel to be eating sushi right now. Hope it doesn't give me bad mojo with the fish Gods. Bass pro is right next door. Lucky me. The casino is calling my name but I am trying to behave.

Not that you would be inclined, but Rockin' Rodeo has ladies night on Thursdays! We stayed at the Holiday Inn over there by it, that is how I know. Not that I would ever go there and drink long necks and twirl around the dance floor while up there on business. Not me.

Oh btw, good luck tomorrow, I fished up there on BB with a buddy earlier this year.

Teri - You are living the DREAM lady!! Fishing a Pro Classic, Sushi (OK so having had sushi and shashimi in Japan, anything in the US is good but not great LOL), going to Bass Pro and even a CHANCE for a new boat - ROCK ON!!

Teri,

Also, in 2003 fished a lake system with a wide slot 2 fish 14-18 and then one over 25... 14-18 fish weigh about 1 to 1/2 lbs each... We boated only one fish, 28 inches, 6 lbs and 13 ozs... That was good enough for 1st and a very fat check...

Sometimes the slot hurts and sometimes the slot helps... I have been on both ends...

Good luck to you... Just being there has got to be a big thrill. I talked at length to the Federations anglers at the 2000 Classic in Chicago. Those guys were walking about 4 inches off the floor just by virtue of being there.;)
