Z7 jackplate?

Hi, I am a new member of this site, but I have learned a great deal by reading your posts for quite some time. I am looking at my first bassboat, a Z7 with 150 Pro XS, and am trying to decide whether to get the 6" jackplate. I know there are benefits of engine setback, but I also read something indicating that a jackplate can weaken the transom. I am hoping to keep this boat for a very long time- should I be concerned? I would appreciate any advice you have.

You'll be just fine with a 6". The Z-7 has a very stout transom. As always, whenever set-back is added, keep an eye on all fasteners for proper torque. Lotsa leverage back there....
