To Steve Bessette about Top End Surge

Hello Steve, I am the other person who had top end surge. I'm not sure if your motor is equipped with this feature or not. However, I was reading the engine manual yesterday and found out that my engine has a rpm rev limiter. So I put the boat in the water today, along with an external rpm meter and found that the engine was surging around 4200 rpm's. My engine is rated at 5250. I then disconnected the wires the manual told me too and the engine now performs perfectly. Guess now I need to install a new rev limiter. Hope your problem is as simple as mine was. Robert

Thanks Bob, But actually I did have an external Tach/Dwell meter attached to the engine during the test.
