The past week I've been Tigerfishing (Hydrocynus vittatus) in the Zambezi River in the North of Namibia.

Caught these fine fish on firetiger rapalas.

Unfortunately no catch and release the locals get the fish to eat.

Biggest of the day weighed in at just over 9lbs.

Steel trace between the line and the lure otherwise no fish. I used 10lb line to make it fun.

Look at the damage done by these fish to the lures, catch and land ratio is about 1 landed for every 10 hooked. They fight and jump like Tarpon.

You put hooks in the mouths of Tiggers?

You give Tiggers to the locals to eat?

Tiggers don't bite.

Tiggers prefer catnip mice on a string to wood and plastic.

Oh!

You said "Tigers".....

...never mind...

Nice pics! It looks like the offspring of Mr. Piranha and Mrs. Striper.

I'll bet they give those Crocodiles a decent fight. They make Walleye look like Mudcat's.
