Due to my wife's health, we haven't had the boat out since November 2021. I was in the shop last night and had this concern...

Does it hurt the boat to stay in storage with the bow eye and transom straps down tight, or would it be better if they were relieved of tension when the boat is stored for any lengthy period of time?

Thoughts?

Great question. I normally release the tension on the bow strap and stern straps during winter storage, but don't really don't know if it makes a difference or not.

Thanks for the input. Mine stays inside. That question was just a result of too much time on my hands.

If it gives you peace of mind go ahead and loosen them.....Just don't forget to re tighten before you leave out. :)

Old Dude, the manual on my 2021 Tracker says to release tension on bow and stern during storage. Never heard of or did that before, but will from now on!
