Prop ?

I have a NX 882 with a 175 merc EFI with a tempest plus 27 3 blade. The question I have is, what makes up the speed of a prop, a large prop or a smaller prop, a 3 blade or 4 blade? Would my boat go faster with a 25 or not? I don't know much about props. Thanks in advance. Rod

Rod,
"typically" 3 blades are faster than 4. And switching to a 25p will get you out of the hole faster, but you'll likely lose some speed on the top end.

Rod I have a good friend who runs a Mer 175 on his Ranger and the best performance he can up with was a 4 bladed 26 pitch prop. He ran a 25, but had high RPMs.
