With the advent of S/S props and the knife edge, skin peeling trailing edge, we use a simple block of wood between the cav plate and prop. I'll check the torque spec once I get to work. If memory serves me correctly it's about 100 ft/lbs......
Edit: 50 ft/ lbs.
I usually use my highly calibrated right arm and breaker bar and have at it.....
Isn't that 50 ft lbs if you aren't using the cone shaped insert, and 100 if you are ? I know the instructions with my hubs say 100 ft lbs if using the cone shaped insert in the hub.
