Help in Removing Lowrance/add Hummingbird

I am looking to remove my dash Lowrance that came with my 2006 929 and replace with a Hummingbird 997. Upon first look it looks like I have to remove the whole dash top to get to it. Has anyone replaced theirs who can give me some pointers? Thanks! Brad

It is connected on the backside of the dash. You have to contort yourself up under the console and you will see how it is mounted. Much easier than taking off the dash.
