hard steering

steering is hard on a 2004 tracker 750nx .I

disconnected the linkege from 2004 merc 115 hp elpto and motor

turns freely.steering wheel still hard to turn.Any ideas.

Cables just probably need to be replaced.

We were fishing a tournament back in the spring, when we were driving up to the check in boat the steering completely locked up. We made it in on time but the problem we had was, we had a teleflex trim switch at the steering wheel (a blinker switch trim lever) the mounting bolts backed out and lodged into tbe back of the steering wheel. Might check those mounting screws if you have that type of set-up

Had the same problem 2 years ago on my 2000 750 nx. Had the steering cable replaced and all is good now.

I checked the trim switch & it was ok.

Think I'll replace cable for a start.
