You guys are way over my head, when my father passed I took guns of his that I wanted and let the grandkids have the rest.
After I retired and moved back home, friends have made sure that I have guns to hunt with. Are they the best, probably not but they work and are safe.
Year before last was the first time in 47 years that I purchased a hunting license or went hunting. One of the rifles was a 3030 Winchester and I needed ammo, down to the sporting goods store I go and said "I needed ammo for a 3030", after we got past 170 or 200 grain, I was asked how many did I want. Reply was "How many deer can I harvest?" answer was six, and I said "OK give me six shells". The look on all the faces behind the counter was priceless.
I did harvest a 6 point my first year. I use the word harvest, my wife does like the word kill.
I make sure I know all the hunting rules, safety rules and regulation and I did attend hunter safety course.
Yes I did know what I was doing, but it was fun to mess with the experts.
