Anyone recarpeted their Pro Team? I've talked to one guy who has done a couple, he said it's not as hard as it appears. He told me the most work is getting the old glue off. What ar your Experiences?

My experience was call and have a professional do it. :D It was only $300 to recarpet the bow of my 2001 Deep V 17 and I had it back in 1 day.

Didn't have any trouble. But I replaced all the wood in mine as well as the carpet on the back. I hit the glue with a sander and it came right off.

It's not really as hard as it is time consuming. On the alum pieces, you can't just glue and staple the carpet in place untill it dries. You will have to clamp the edges over night.

Don't use the carpet and glue from Lowe's. Mine is starting to lift up in high traffic places that also see alot of water.

Also think of any wiring, or any other design changes you want to make while you are doing it.

I saw an excellent article online on that very subject not long ago. Can't remember for sure but it might have been on Bass Boat Central. You might look there and if it's not there Google it. If I come across it I'll post a link.

As far as getting the old glue off; I would just hit it with a belt sander if you have or can borrow one. I don't think it all needs to come off so long as it's fairly smooth. I know from my years in the carpet business that a pebble under a carpet will feel like a boulder when you step on it.
