depth finder problem

i have a hummingbird model 100 sx. the sender on troll motor took a hit now i have a mostly black screen . fish alarm and depth reading still work, shall i try a new sender or just go for a whole new depth finder?? i think this unit is original to the boat 1995.

I would purchase a new unit, a lot of things changed since 1995.

Good advice. Move up to a much better unit without spending a serious amount of money.
