Gang - Need all of your input: Since we returned from China a year ago, we moved to DirectTV, and have not been thrilled with lossing singles in storms and have had 1/4 of the channels drop but not consistently to be able to have the repair guy here when they are not working. Oh and we have the cheapest DirectTV package, as we really only want about 20 channels (local channels plus things like Discovery, Animal Planet, Disney, Cartoon Network...) we have no sports or digital packages. Our contract is up this month with DirectTV and are looking to move back to Comcast, especially since we can then hook up in the basement our Wii TV if the kids want to watch something different at the same time (only have 2 Sat boxes today). We are looking at the basic/basic cable packages and don't have (nor plan to buy in the next 1-2 years) any big screen/HD TVs.
So, our choices are keep Direct TV (we watch about 20% of our current channels and never use the music component, as the kids have iPods), move back to Comcast with the cheapest HD package they can offer to get the few channels we want, or swap out dishes and move to Dish Network.
Any good/bad/ugly stories going either way or suggestions?
