Alarm lights vs audible

Does anyone know if there is a alarm light vs. audible available from Mercury or can one be wired in? I cant hear good anyway and cruising down lake at speed I cant hear my buddy talking much less a beep. I have a 2006 200h.p. Optimax.

If you ever run into any issues, your motor's computer will automatically shut the motor down to 1000rpms and you'll go into "safe mode"..you won't even be able to get back up on plane. It's Merc's way of saving your motor from any further harm. Even if you cannot "hear" the alarm...the computer has your back!!

Yes, you can wire in a light to the alarm without problem. While the guardian mode is there to prevent damage to the motor, I to wanted a little more notice prior to having it kick in. Found this on the BBC and it's a very easy mod to do yourself. Works great.

The early Opti's had a four way warning light in a 2" gauge that came with the engine. You might find one of these and retrofit. Good luck!
