aerator switch blowing fuses??????

i have an 05 nx882 boat. the aerator is a manual/timer one. works fine on manual. when ya flip it up to auto it instantly blows the fuse !!!! was told to buy new timer, did that, still blows fuse. it was used and i think the wiring is out of place, however, all else works fine. can sum1 please tell me what color wires goes to each of the prongs on back of switch???? i think there's 6-8 prongs and about 4-5 different colored wires is all. i just need to know which color goes where. and, could the problem be sumtn else??? could it be the switch???? please help........driving me crazy !!!

No telling without knowing the switch mfr. Can you pull it out and snap a pic?

On my 882 they had lighted switches that had a ground wire connected to it. I would try yanking that ground and see what it does. If all is fine then there is a short inside the switch.
