I was at the lake today and my Motorguide 6700 stopped working. After checking and finding that it blew a fuse I got it reset and the motor housing got real hot. I unplugged it and came home. The nearest service center is 3 hours away:angry:. Does anyone know what might be wrong and if it is even going to be feasible to get repaired. It was put into service September 2004.Thanks Chris F.

If it just got hot without running, it probably has a short in it.

Souns to me like the armature has failed. I have had that happen a few times in the past with the same symptoms. Its fixable for sure, find your nearest MG service center and bring it in.

When mine broke they were under warranty. I don't have a mg anymore so I don't have any idea what it would cost.
