Trolling motor issue

I have a 2009 X5 with a motorguide trolling motor. When I launch my boat from the trailer the bottom plate o the trolling motor clips the bow roller and has cracked it. Am I launching wrong or was the motor mounted too far forward. Any thoughts?

Mark, there are no pics in your library to look at so I'm wondering how you mounted your trolling motor? Is it not on a bracket that allows you to pull it up and lay it on the gunwale? Is it a hand controlled motor attached with no lifting bracket?

It could also have something to do with how far your backing the trailer in and how steep the ramp is. Mine hits every now and then on my 99' NX 882 if I back into the water to far on a steep ramp.
