I have a buddy who's son is fishing a T on Smith Mtn lake the end of March. What can he expect and what works best that time of year?? Pre-Spawn?? Spawn?? Any and all info would be appreciated!!

Thanks gang..

Definitely prespawn, but they could be shallow depending on how warm it gets. Very clear lake, but you can run up the river to find some stained water.

Prespawn, very prespawn!! Cold water, I have not fished it before the end of Apr or 1st part of May. Might have better luck down lake for smallmouth then up the river for large.

I'd be burning a white dbl. willow spinnerbait on main lake points down by the dam like it's my job, getting paid by the cast. A wakebait wobbled back early can bring a magnum up, too. ;)

Thanks folks......Toxic,..yes I know John..he's a huge S&T fan...we talked for quite awhile a few yrs ago at a BMC...he came up to me told me how much he likes the 'toons!!

Thanks Dan........and I'll talk to Bondy and Mark too.
