I have a 2008 z7 with a merc 175 and a 25p tempest plus. without a load it will plane out ok and has plenty of speed with 5650rpm, with a full load it pretty much will not get on plane. my motor is set on the second highest set of transom holes and the prop is 3.75 inches below pad. rather than buying a new prop and with money being a little tight now, i was wondering what i might expect if i were to lower the motor? (i have room to move it 2 inches)thanks

You didn't mention if you had taken out the prop plugs. If not, remove all plugs to give the prop more spin on take off.

How is your "load" distributed?

Load is distributed evenly throuhout boat. This problem occurs basically when the livewells are full.
