Restoration question

Hello all..just signed up! I recently bought a late nineties Nitro 205 SF, and while the fiberglass is in great shape, the red carpeting, while nicely intact, has faded a lot over the years. Anyone ever dye boat carpeting? For as old as the boat is, I'd like to try that before ripping it out and replacing it. Just wondering if anyone did it, were you happy with the result, and if so, what product did you use?
