Hi all, first time on the board. My question is that I have a 99 Nitro Sport 185 with a 99 Merc 125 on back. The prop is a Laser 2 stainless with a 24" pitch. The boat seems slow to plane to me, top end by GPS and 2 people is 52 mph. We use the boat for pulling tubes, skiing and fishing, not necessarily in that order. I can get the rpms up to 5250 but only by trimming the motor up a long ways, shooting a fair sized rooster. Without the trimming way up the motor rpm maxes out around 4700. It has been 6 months so I may be a little fuzzy on that number. Is this to much prop and if so what recommendations would you have? Thanks for the help.
