Hey guys and gals! I'm having doubts about a Canada trip next year with my dad from the hassle factor talked about lately on the board. Question is, where is some great smallmouth and walleye fishing in the central northern states that a non boat owner can get lodging and boat rental similar to the Canada type trips? Any advice or names of places would help.

Thanks!;)

Hey Tom - Can't help ya on the locations, but will be interested in the results. As my Father-n-law is in his early 80's and we are all making the fly-in trip north again this year. If he gets to the point like your dad where he may not want to or can not do that long of a flight on the float plane, i'd be interested in the type of places you find out about.

Don't forget Casa De'Trepper - you and dad want to come down for a weekend of crappie fishing in the fall or spring, just let me know.

:DThere is alot of guides in New Hampshire to choose from, I have not used one. With so many lakes in NH mainly Winnipesaukee there is a large variety, Lg & Smallmouth, land locked salmon, trout, pike, stripers and fly fishing. There are Walleye on the Connecticut River which is in the Western side of the state where I am at.

Below is a link to a few guides in NH, maybe Mark will chime in since it's his old stomping gorund.

You do not have to go all the way north for Walleye and Smallies, try Stockton in Missouri,or Milford in Kansas. Both of those lakes have good #s of both species.

I live in the Minneapolis area and have been looking at trips in Northern Minnesota. Check out this place, it looks like they have fall specials and its borders the Boundary Waters Canoe Area which is a truly unbelievable place.

Looks like you can get a week for three people at 365 each. That includes lodging, boat, bait, and gas.

I can guarantee you won't be dissapointed fishing northern Minnesota and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area.....BWCA as we call it.
