I’ve got an 06 288 Sport (fish and ski). I’m the second owner. Looks like all original equipment.
I posted last year about trouble “deploying” the trolling motor. The lanyard is totally ineffective for deploying the motor. But it works for recovering it.
I’ve tried all sorts of spray lubricants to no effect. There’s no “obvious” damage to the frame etc.
So now a carry a splitting wedge in the boat and I place it against the lock and give it a bump with the heal of my hand. Then the lanyard works.
The other issue I had was the directional arrow was inaccurate. I removed the motor cover and re-oriented the arrow.
But the alternative, for anyone needing to adjust the directional arrow is…put a piece of duct tape on the indicator and draw a new/correct arrow.
