Mercury Verado 250 hp 4 stroke

Also looking to hear more information from someone who has had more experience with this particular motor. It is a 2006 Mercury Verado 4 stroke 250 hp on a 2006 nitro cdx 929 20'9" bass boat. I have never really been a huge fan of Mercury outboards but this one was a deal I could not pass up. Do I need to cut my losses and sell it and buy a new motor or will this one do the job and hold up. I am hearing a lot of people claiming similar performance with a lot less boat kinda worries me if I am wasting time and money with this motor. I know the boat more than capable of very high performance. Bought new less than 50 hrs

i have that motor on my boat, and i like it a lot, with 50 hours, you have plenty of running to look forward to. There is a website veradoclub.com where guys report hours near 4,000.
