I have a 898 with a 200 opti. Currently running 67 to 68 on GPS with 2 guys 1/2 tank and full gear.

what's your opinion on the jack plate size and height to pad.

What's the expected improvement to performance with the jackplate?

If you are running that speed with a 200 and are getting out of the hole alright, I wouldn't mess with the setup!!

With numbers like you're running, the most you could hope for with a 8"-10" JP is a bit quicker hole shot. I'm with TOX, if it ain't broke.... ;)

Riceman,I've got an 03 898 w/a 200EFI. I've got a 25P tempest plus on it.It has an 8inch Rite Hite on it and the best I've ever gotten was 69 with one person and half tank of fuel.Thats GPS also.It runs about 64-65 with 2 guys but a real pig on the holeshot. Not to bad when its cold but warm air doesn't help. I should change to a 24 in the summer.I wouldn't waste any money on a JP. Spend it on lures.
