I have a lowrance lcx28 hd that is a P.O.S. - it keeps burnin pucks and I am done with it. I really like the fish finding capabilities of it, but done with lowrance when it comes to gps. I am leaving it on the boat for the fish finder, but now I need a gps. I want a permanent mount, and I am thinking of going humminbird. Or raymarine ? What do you guys think ?

I don't think Humminbird makes just a gps anymore, they are all in combo with the fishfinder. I took a look on the website and all the chartplotters appear discontinued.

Take a good look at the humminbird as a fishfinder too. The side imaging is unreal and the 2d sonar is superb. The ones i have blow away anything i have ever owned from Lowrance( and i've owned quite a few)

I am with you on that one. My cousin has a nice 1197 and they are far superb to lowrance.
