A 72 degree day here in Iowa and the smallies were bitting good on the Maquketa river below Delhi dam. This is a place where insulated waders are great this time of the year yet. All were caught on live bait. Oh after between 20 to 30 smallies aand a couple of walleyes it was time to go. The biggest was about 2 to 2 1/2 lbs. This section of this river is all catch and release on smallies and largemouth. We have caught some smallies in the 5lb. range also. Time to get the boat out for the big river.
