I have a 1987 Tracker 1800FS Tourn. The hull has moderate chalking (oxidation) and I am in the process of buffing it out. My question is how do you buff the areas where the fenders are, short of lifting the boat off the trailer. Also, any ideas on the longest lasting wax with UV protectant.

CAn you unbolt the fenders? I can on my DC 170. Comes in handy when you want to repaint just the fenders. If not you can jack up one side of the boat with a padded two by four with a floor jack as long as your carefulnot to put pressure on the opposite side fender.

I use wax and polishing compounds from a professional detailing store. Its so far better than anything found on the store shelf. I buy a glass cleaner from a auto glass store its a white foamy spray, smells like lemons. It's the best stuff out there for wiping down after pulling the boat out of the water.
