Toxics reply to my fishing posts got me thinking.



what is that changes the fish during a chance in BP?



I've heard that a lower pressure causes a fishs stomach to be smaller so they dont eat as much and when it rises it gets bigger and they eat more????? Myth???



Also, i've had a few good days after a cold front, was this just because the BP didnt change much or becuase i just got lucky?

Scientists don't know exactly what occurs or why they react the way they do.



My guess would be that because they are in water, they can sense the effect of changing BP better than we can on land, and when the BP falls it screws up their equilibrium.

I remember reading that the barometric pressure affected the air pressure in the fishes swim bladder, that's why the fish react to the changes. I've never quite got it straight in my head if it's high or low, rising or falling that is best.
