Does anyone have any info on the 788di? I tried to get a look at bass pro and cabelas but the units weren't in stock yet. Just wondering if the performance is what Humminbird claims.

While in the past (many years ago) I questioned the gap between claims and performance made by Humminbird. I really believe they have 'improved their game/quality/performance' quite a bit. If the unit is in your price range, and has the features you want, I for one wouldn't hestitate to get it.
