Hey, Tex! Good to hear from you!

2002 Merc 150XR6 Voltage Issue (or maybe not)

Tox, my water pressure was nominal, and I had replaced the oil reserve cap assembly (which draws by vacuum from the main tank under the rear deck) the previous time out. Before we went out this time, I made sure both tanks were full. The beeping alarm was an electric-system issue, which I...

2002 Merc 150XR6 Voltage Issue (or maybe not)

Apparently I do. I get a high pitched beeping or squeal when it goes off. It's annoying, but it sure gets your attention. I hadn't thought about checking with a volt meter. Great suggestion! Thank you! I'll have my certified electrician father-in-law check to make sure I do that correctly.

Well, it finally had to be done.

I just replaced the OEM bias-ply Tracker Marine tires on my 2001 trailer. That was a pretty good run on a set of trailer tires. Lasted longer than a couple of my props! Hope the new radials hold up as well. Next to-do is replacing the bunk and side-guide carpeting. MOFish

2002 Merc 150XR6 Voltage Issue (or maybe not)

Was out on Lake of the Ozarks last week crappie fishing. Coming back to the dock for lunch, I got an infrequent alarm (high pitched beeping, short and sporadic) from my voltage gauge. I noticed at 4,600 rpms it was reading a shade over 14 volts - call it 14.2. At the dock I rechecked and...

Opinion and info on Tournament V-18 help

I'll bet mine is the oldest TV-18 still held by the original owner. 2001 dual console with a 2002 Merc 150XR6. I love my boat, even with all its faults. It survived being sideswiped by a semi on the highway, getting lodged under a dock by a flowing current, and even four-foot rollers on Lake...

Returning Tracker Owner - Old NTOWS Ghost

Cq, thanks! This is the "Long Winter," isn't it, Toxic? I was down in Jacksonville a week ago. It was hard to come back. Unfortunately, the old TV-18 hasn't gotten as much use as I'd like; but The Boy (that's what I typically call him) is getting to the age where he'll want to go out more...

Returning Tracker Owner - Old NTOWS Ghost

Life is settling down enough for me to pop in and say hello to old Nitro/Tracker Owner friend as well as introduce myself to the rest of the Transom Talk crowd. Name is Mark Hofman. Used to go by "MOFish" (More/Missouri Fish). I own/run a 2001 Tracker Tournament V-18 dual console with a 2002...

    engine operation

Check (and possibly replace) your fuel priming bulb. If it has pinholes or a leak, you'll get air mixed in with the fuel at idle and it can cause the motor to sputter or die. Happened to me on a 150 XR6.

    trailer bunks

Thanks, Tox! Makes me feel better that I spent money on cedar boards. Would anyone seal the wood before putting carpet on them? I'm thinking of using something like roll-on bed liner. Or is it better just to put the carpet on and fugghettaboutit?

    trailer bunks

And why not (again, because it's been a long time) pressure treated on tin boats?

    Boat Carpeting

There's a place here in St. Louis that does recarpeting. Gravois Auto Top, Inc. I'm thinking about using them to recarpet my boat. Recommendations from others have been very positive. It would be a drive for you, but at least it's one place. I have a card at home for another guy down...

    9/11 Where were you?

This was a fascinating thread to read. (Yes, I still lurk around...) I was at a professional conference held in the Marriott in Pittsburgh, across the interstate from one of the runways at at the international airport . There were a couple of hundred people in the main ballroom, sitting at...

    Tracker Tin

My '01 Tournament V18 was sideswiped by a semi while we were going down the highway. Tore the cover, broke the spare tire carrier, tore and ripped out the docking bumper (whatevertheheckitscalled) and dented the gunnel (gunwale) in a couple of places. None of the welds on the hull...

    My cousin's husband wins BIG!!!

Whoops. I answered too soon. They intend to sell the Z8, which is a fair way to split the winnings I think. This website also has Luke telling their story. It's an interesting read. http://www.reellifeoutdoors.com/

    My cousin's husband wins BIG!!!

I don't know yet what their plans are for the new boat. The Skeeter they used is Luke's. If I were him, I'd offer to give the Skeeter to Josh if it's paid off. If not, I'd try to sell the Z8 and split the net proceeds with him. If Josh wanted the Z8, I'd ask him to finish paying off any...
