HELLO.....i have a nx882 w/ a 150 mercury. i got to noticing it has no fin stuck down !! i bought it used and it's like new(see pix !!!) anyway them are supposed to make the steering easier right ?? do i especially need 1 of these on the boat?? it turns easily to the right, but is hard turning left cuz of the prop rotation. and, why on earth would sum1 take this part off anyway ??? any help appreciated......contact me at [email protected] get it there b4 i check these forums. but ive learned you guys are great, and know exactly what ya talkin bout.......i've never questioned any of you all !!!! thnxxxx..............paul white.:(
 
That not the anode. Its the antitorque fin and it probably broke off.



You need it on there and adjusted to counteract the prop torque/ prop walk.

i looked at your pic and you have the correct setup. On the v6's a lot of times they have to take the fin off and put a flat plate(the grey round one) in there because large wheels like the tempest you have can have clearance problems if the fin is on there.



Dont worry about it and leave it be, you have the correct configuration.
