YEOWW,..what a store!! The BIGGEST BPS in the entire chain!! 230,000 Sq.FT!! (And the entire 2nd floor is ALL Hunting/Camping!!) Man,..what a place!! The fishing dept is HUGE and they carry both salt and fresh water gear. If that store doesn't have it,..it isn't made!! LOL

We had a riot down there,.....Denny Brauer was there both Saturday and Sunday and we went out to dinner with him Saturday night and then watched the 1st game of the World Series. Sunday, he sat at my table all day and signed autographs there while I worked on rod handles for customers....that was cool!! He'll be in Macon next weekend too...so we'll hook up there again...he's a very nice guy...very down to earth and appreciative of his fans.

1 trip down,..3 more to go!! If you're ever in south central Texas,...make sure you see that store....it's unbelievable!!:wacko:

I'm whipped today tho,....getting home at 1am and getting into work at 630am, didn't leave a lot of time for sleepage!!...I'll be crashing early tonite!!

Very cool Mac. Denny is a hoot. He was with Zell Rowland and Guido Hibdon at the Bass U. I went to a couple of years ago. I thought at the time what fun it would be to go have a beer with those three. I have mixed memories about San Antonino however. I went to basic training and cop school there. All I remember is walking around downtown checking out the girls. Problem was, the only girls that were interested in a skinny 18 year old with a shaved head I couldn't afford on my generous $50 a month salary.

Harpo

Not sure that it is the biggest in the chain. If I recall right Springfield is 300K sq foot. But who is going to fuss over a few thousand sq feet when there is too much to look at in one day at either store. I heard the crowd down there was pretty darn good.

If you ever want to slum it ....you can come to our BPS and paint some rods. Council Bluffs isn't no Macon Geogria but we have a great xxx store and the life size fantasy dolls are on sale until Thanksgiving. Plus lap dances are half price on Fridays til noon. Thats some of the local industry other than the casino's.

That's pretty cool Mac. I've never met Denny Brauer but always thought he was probably a decent guy. Get your rest old timer:rolleyes:

Uncle Billy

I know your rod handle art was the real draw after seeing a few in person. They just put Denny there to keep the line occupied.

Thanks Bryan!! LOL. He sure was fun to talk to,...it's funny how much we all have in common when it comes to traveling, doing promotional work, tournament fishing and all the various "funnies" and horrors that go along with it!! He's really a funny guy too,...we had a lot of laughs at dinner Sat. pm and over lunch on Sunday. He's deffinitely one of my favorites!

He has it made people.

He confessed to me that the Budweiser truck comes to his front door!!!!!!

That aint right!

No doubt,......after he told us all he has to do is call the local Distributor and a truck will show up at his house, I thought to myself,..."That's it........I'm going to BRINKS and get a sponsorship!!" "I'll even wrap my next boat to look like an Armored Truck!!":rolleyes:
