Is Quicksilver/Merc bulb and gas line worth the difference in cost? Think the check valve is going bad in mine....had to pump it a few times yesterday.....





Follow up- I just looked at the aftermarket ones and the fuel tank side hose is a bit short. Does a splice-fitting restrict fuel flow excessively?

Berry, the fuel line bulb itself is likely the problem (not the valve). The bulb usually develops tiny cracks and weakens. It prevents it from priming. To answer your question #1, I think it's worth it.



Question #2: an in-line connector (splice), should not restrict it enough to cause an issue.

I went with an aftermarket buld and bulk Merc hose. Works great. YMMV.
