Hi, I have a Optimax 90, Thinking of getting a onboard charger that charges from my engines Alternator.

I just want to know if this is possible and if anyone has done it. Is there a 2nd output on the engine for this or do i piggyback of the wires onthe crank battery now?

Thanks

Was looking at Minnkota MK-1-DC charger

I have the Minnkota DC2 and the way it works is you put the motor side on the starting battery and the trolling motor leads go to the trolling motor battery. There is also a wire that connects to any wire on the boat thats how when the motor is running( normally purple wire is the color).

Overall the hookup is super simple.
