Just bought a new Humminbird 597ci HD. What are the best maps to buy Lakemaster or Navonics?

The "best" is the one that has the waters you fish.

Lakemaster has excellect maps for the limited places it covers.

Check each company's web site for a listing of coverage each has for where you fish.

I have the 587 ci HD and I think it's basically the same unit with a bigger screen. I went with Navionics Gold and Hot Maps Premium, Navionics Platinum wasn't available for the 500 series. But it does have every lake and salt water area I'd ever want to fish. It also has a computer app so you can plan your trips and scout new spots. I don't know about the LakeMaster Charts. Here's a screenshot of the area on Lake Ontario I plan on fishing.

My 597 ci HD di works just fine and I use LakeMaster chips for East & South

Alan,
You may want to start a different post about your 597ci HD DI unit. Please include some screen snapshots of what you are seeing.
